Spring is (almost) in the air—and with a new season comes new routines (like walks in the park!) and a new set of trends we can’t wait to play around with. As a top hair salon in Maryland, we’re covering everything for you to get prepared for when those temps finally start to peak. Try one, or try all—and no matter what lifestyle changes you make this season, we’re here to help you make sure you look and feel your absolute best.
WHAT’S HOT FOR HAIR
From the west coast to the east, we’ve got one word for you this spring: color. We saw it everywhere at the International Salon & Spa Expo in California, and we’re bringing it back to you. To match the sunny skies, our stylist Ana is seeing blonde, blonde and more blonde—in all shades and styles. Brunettes, don’t dismay—stylist Issi says balayage is big—and it’s a perfect way to have a lighter, brighter and face-framing new hue. For an on-trend color that is completely customizable, our master colorist Robyn Munson can create a color that’s suited for your lifestyle—and keeps you current.
If a cut is what’s on your mind, spring couldn’t be a better time. Ana says A-line cuts are popping up everywhere, and Issi agrees—short hair is in, so get to pinning those A-line lobs stat.
For those lucky to have their killer look down pat, start the new season off with a hair treatment like a Kérastase and Goldwell Color Lock, or even a makeup touch-up from Nora (ours include blush, mascara, and lips).
LONG LASHES ARE IN
We love a long lash—and our lash extension services would be perfect for anyone looking for that mascara-on-point look, all day long this spring. We’re seeing lashes as a big trend this spring, and we want to get you prepared! Ellen says a good foundation of lashes to build off of gives us a great start. Lash extensions lengthen and thicken, and can lift your eyes as well. Depending on your natural lash cycle and your goals for lash extensions, maintenance can be anywhere from two to four weeks—a foolproof way to always #WakeUpLikeThis.
GET YOUR GLOW ON
If beach plans aren’t in the cards any time soon, we’ve got you covered. To get that effortless spring glow, we’d suggest a customized spray tan to get those back-from-the-beach vibes (without actually having to go to the beach) in your preferred shade.
For a natural glow from within, our Hydrafacials improve the look and feel of your skin with just one visit. Angela explains that with a Hydrafacial, your skin will be more radiant and bright, (thanks to the removal of surface cells and brightening antioxidants) more plump, and of course—silky smooth. (Our favorite part!) Because winter is harsh on our skin and can cause inflammation, a Hydrafacial can counteract pollutants and taxing weather by restoring and renewing.
LET’S GET PERSONAL
For any of our services mentioned above (and more), a personal consultation can help us make the most out of your experience every single time. We’ll talk visual inspiration, lifestyle, commitment to maintenance and your final goal during a hair consultation, and similarly, your mascara habits and inspiration for a lash service. During a Hydrafacial consultation, products, treatment history, expectations and concerns will all be addressed to ensure there’s no downtime, and optimal results.
A personal consultation is extremely beneficial for you, and for us—we can learn more about you, know what tools or products you would benefit from and deliver the best and most personal experience possible to you.
OUR SPRING MUST-HAVES
Ana’s pick: Oribe Impermeable Anti-Humidity Spray to reduce frizz (and to use on dry, styled hair).
Issi’s pick: Bumble and Bumble Curl Conditioning Mousse for that extra crunch on your effortless curls.
Nora’s pick: In the warmer months, swapping your lipstick for a gloss can liven up your face and add extra shine.
Angela’s pick: Three letters—S.P.F. (We love anything from the Coola line.)
YOUR SPRING MUST-DO’S
One of our favorite Saturday morning activities in the soon-to-be sunny weather is taking a trip to our local farmers’ market. Picking out fresh vegetables and fruit from local farmers keeps us feeling healthy and nourished all spring long. It’s a great way to learn more about your community, support the local market and get some extra sunshine!
