Progressions Salon recognizes that everyone is different and everyone has different preferences. If you are someone that prefers that we do not massage your scalp or you prefer that we touch your scalp gently, please inform Guest Services and we will leave a note in your folder so that we can meet your needs while visiting our salon and spa, conveniently located in Rockville, Maryland, just outside of North Bethesda, Maryland. Referrals are the greatest compliment you could pay us. If you refer someone that lives locally and they come in to receive services, we will give you $50 toward your favorite products as a thank you. Plus, your friend will receive $25 toward their first service valued at $45 or more. Ask your stylist for details!
In an effort to respect the time of our valued guests and service providers, we require a 48-hour notice to change or cancel reservations. We understand unusual circumstances arise occasionally and we will do our best to work with you in the case of an emergency. Please know that your service provider has specifically reserved that time for you and if you have more than two no-call or no-shows, you may be asked to provide a credit card to reserve your next appointment. Charges will only appear at the time of your missed appointment.

Store Return Policy
Items purchased in our store must be returned within 30 days in order to receive a full refund. Items returned between 30 days and 120 days will receive a store credit. We are unable to accept returns for items purchased after 120 days.
We give you a 10% off coupon to use on services and/or products for your Birthday each year. Please be certain we have the month and day of your birth on file.

A blow dry is a separate service if you have received color services with us in the past. If you are a first time color guest, you receive a consultation and blow dry included in the fee so we can be certain your color is exactly what you want. All of our haircuts include a shampoo, haircut, and blow dry.
For your convenience, we encourage you book your next appointment upon checkout. Once it’s done you won’t have to worry and we will call, text message or e-mail you to confirm your next appointment.
For your convenience, we offer you the option to have your appointments confirmed via a phone call, through e-mail or text messaging. Please let us know if you prefer appointment reminders but not promotional information. We can personalize your preferences.
We encourage our guests to try alternative stylists, as we work as a team. Whether it’s price, convenience, or just giving a new perspective, we are confident you will find a consistently high level of professional care from all of our team members.
We accept checks, debit cards, and all major credit cards as forms of payment. Product phone orders are gladly accepted.
If you prefer to tip in cash, please come prepared with cash needed as we are now a cashless salon and cannot make change. Envelopes will be available upon request.
We consider tips a gift. Most guests do choose to tip and that is greatly appreciated by our team members. Usually, guests follow the same tipping guidelines as they would in a restaurant. Approximately 15% gratuity on services provided. Perhaps 20% for exceptional service. The support staff usually receives $2-5 tip depending on the service. Tippy is now available to tip with a credit card. If you prefer to tip in cash, please come prepared with cash needed as we are now a cashless salon and cannot make change.
We have a play room where your children can relax with a TV/DVD and children’s videos while you enjoy your service. For the safety of all, we cannot allow children in salon areas, except infants in appropriate carriers.

Faxes, Phone & Internet
Feel free to send and receive a fax and use our Wi-Fi to surf the internet or work while visiting with us. We want to make your visit a convenient one.
We have team members that speak English, American Sign Language, Cantonese, Korean, Russian, Spanish, and Vietnamese if needed.
If you require privacy for your hair services, we are fully equipped to fulfill that need.
We recommend receiving waxing services 4-7 days prior to your wedding day. If you have never received a facial in the past, we recommend you come in at least a month before your wedding day. If you are a return guest, we recommend at least 2-3 days before your wedding day.
We always offer complimentary Bang Trims for our guests. There is a $10 charge if bangs are grown out longer than 6 weeks. When possible, please call Guest Services at 301.231.8757 ahead of time to confirm availability.

Special occasion styling
For Formal Stylings, you should arrive with dry, clean hair preferable washed the night before. Please let it air dry. Do not use products, a flat iron or blow it dry. This will assist the Service Provider in creating the best look for your event. Please wear a shirt that buttons up so that your style remains in-tact and looking beautiful for as long as possible.
For Brides, we require a practice two to four weeks prior to the actual day of the wedding. Up to two different looks may be performed during the practice to help decide which look is preferable. Please arrive with dry, clean hair having washed it the night before. Please let it air dry. Do not use a flat iron or blow it dry, and no styling products please. This will assist the Service Provider in creating the most beautiful look for your wedding. If you do not dress at Progressions, please wear a shirt that buttons up so that your style remains in-tact and looking beautiful for as long as possible.
We have a variety of nourishing snacks and beverages for guests to choose from while visiting with us. These include Starbucks coffee, an assortment of hot tea, orange juice, iced tea, fresh lemon water, and sparkling water. We also small snacks available if needed. If you are ever visiting with us for an extended period of time, we are happy to order you lunch and pick it up for you.
