SPOTLIGHT ON BARBARA
As the best hair salon in Bethesda, we attract top talent. One example of that talent is our Barbara Royal, a stylist who has been with us for over 34 years. She is retiring this year and we are so grateful for her service and excited to see what her future holds. We sat down with Barbara to ask about her Progressions journey.

What has been the best part of working at Progressions?
It’s been a very safe environment for me to grow and change. I’ve had constant education, long-lasting relationships, and the best of everything for my guests.
What memories stand out?
Marriages, babies, divorces, death, birthdays, holidays, parties, and all of the events and joys we have shared.
What made you stay for 34 years?
Progressions gave me the time and space to explore who I am—which helped me grow into the person I have become today. Cindy, the owner, supported me in everything I wanted to try: college, theater, film, makeup and the list goes on and on.
What are your next steps?
I am excited to live without a schedule, serve with a purpose, help others, read, swim, enjoy precious time, time with family, travel, and dream big!
