Adding length, color and thickness to eyelashes is one of the most tried-and-true beauty methods throughout time, which is why mascara has been a lifelong staple in our makeup bags. It’s also why mascara clumping, flaking and smudging have been lifelong aggravations. The alternative has been false eyelashes, strips of faux fringe applied to the eyelids with glue. While false lashes do create the dramatic doe-eyed effect, they’re temporary at best (and standard eyelash glue is not exactly kind to the delicate eye area).
Enter lash extensions, which are applied to your eyelashes using professional grade, semi-permanent glue that does not damage your eyelashes nor your eye skin. Unlike their distant cousin, false eyelashes, lash extensions are highly customizable to your lash color, thickness, and curl. And they’re a LOT more comfortable and natural looking.
The initial appointment is two hours, and touch-ups take about 30-60 minutes every three weeks depending on how well the wearer adheres to home care recommendations. Home maintenance is not difficult or time-consuming: it involves very gentle removal of eye makeup, and combing lashes daily with a clean eyelash brush. You end up paying about the same as you would if you wear a high-end mascara … and the results are so much better. (And we’re not even adding up all the time you save in your makeup application and removal.)
