For the past 32 years, when joining the Progressions team, an individual is signing up for ongoing personal and professional growth. That goes for the owner, too.
Owner Cindy Feldman was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the Professional Beauty Association and will serve on its Salon/Spa Advisory Council. Honored to be one of these 12 national industry leaders, Cindy is looking forward to sharing her salon’s ideas and perspective to advance the beauty industry.
“I feel privileged and grateful to serve in an industry that’s given me so much,” says Cindy, who launched Progressions in 1984 and has grown the team to 58 employees. She sees this as an opportunity for giving back to the industry, as well as her next step toward personal and professional growth.
Probeauty’s mission is to advance the beauty industry through initiatives supporting growth and sustainability. These initiatives include education, charitable outreach, government advocacy, events and more. The organization provides resources, research, industry news and professional networking to its members.
One of Cindy’s biggest goals in her new role is to enhance the curriculum taught in cosmetology schools. “I’d love to see improved curriculums that will better prepare graduating students. As a salon owner, I can provide insight into what sets a good new hire apart from a great one.”
Cindy is keen to address other industry issues such as strengthening professional licensing and regulation requirements, and promoting philanthropic initiatives. Progressions is known for a salon culture that promotes giving back to the community, and Cindy is excited to bring her passion for charitable work to a greater audience.
“I’m also very much looking forward to working with these amazing leaders in the beauty industry,” Cindy says. “I’m a big believer in surrounding myself with incredible people. It’s a dream come true.”
Mostly, Cindy is grateful for the opportunity to serve. “There’s never been a better time to be a licensed beauty professional,” she says. “You really can chart your own path and follow wherever your ambitions take you. There’s such a bright future ahead for beauty careers, and I’m excited to be part of that future.”
