Stylists Learn Latest Techniques at Educational Events Across the Globe

Stylists from Progressions took part in several recent educational events across the country. Sung Heinrichs and Navan Hok studied under award-winning celebrity hairdresser Nicholas French at his workshop, “Up, Up and Away! Your Gateway to NAHA.” This two-day immersive learning experience at Skyfall Academy in Palm Springs, focused on taking hair artistry skills to a new level and learning tips to enter the North American Hairdressing Awards. French’s series of educational events are geared to spark creativity, passion and professional drive.

“Nicholas was so humble and generous with all of his hairdressing knowledge. He didn’t hold anything back and filled the room with information,” notes Sung. “Working with Nicholas French was an unforgettable experience,” adds Navan. “I greatly admire his work, and being able to work in such an intimate environment with him was awesome.”

Progressions stylists B Arache and Issi Rivera travelled to New York City in late August to learn styling techniques at Bumble and bumble University, where hairdressers from all over the world meet, share their eagerness to learn, and hone their skills and techniques. The two Progressions stylists attended “Styling II,” a workshop on challenging and timeless classic-hairdressing techniques.

In September, B Arache and Issi Rivera participated in a Pulp Riot Hands-on Workshop held at Hugo Salon in Kensington, Maryland. They learned about creative color, and the latest trends in applying and blending color. “The Pulp Riot Workshop highlighted different methods of lightening hair and getting the desired result with tone, shade and level,” notes Issi. “This one-day workshop was a great experience and opportunity to grow in coloring techniques.”

In early October, Progressions owner Cindy Feldman and master colorists Julia Mateu and Robyn Munson attended Goldwell Color Zoom 2016 in Stockholm, Sweden. The annual competition drew participants from all over the world and concluded with an evening gala celebrating the competition’s global winners. The Color Zoom Challenge is the highest level of color competition and the winners go on to re-create the trends for the upcoming year in fashion, color and hair.

In mid-October, Progressions stylists Silvia Platero and Trinh Vuong will travel to Paris to spend four days with international top stylist Odile Gilbert. The stylists will visit Odile’s inspirational and favorite spots in the city and participate in a hair educational day focusing on upwork/styling.

Progressions founder and owner Cindy Feldman has inspired her team of stylists and beauty professionals to learn, continuously grow both personally and professionally, and educate themselves in the field.
